Drive ban for Brokerswood pub owner

The owner of the Kicking Donkey pub in Brokerswood has lost his appeal against a six-month driving ban after being caught on the road without insurance.

Businessman Nick Day, 42, who also owns a cafe and an employment agency, was disqualified because he already had six points on his licence.

Day told Swindon Crown Court his marriage split led to his actions, as all his mail was still going to the family home. He claimed he would suffer exceptional hardship if the penalty was imposed.

But Judge Euan Ambrose dismissed his appeal, saying he could afford to pay for a driver or taxis.

So presumably the address on his driving licence was still that of his previous home. Yet another offence.
