Workshop for teenage tantrums

TWO Bradford on Avon therapists are offering parents advice about dealing with their teenage children.

Experienced systematic family therapists Gillian Norman and Margaret Sykes will hold a morning workshop for parents of teenagers in the Quaker Meeting House, St Margaret's Street, Bradford on Avon on May 10.

Mrs Norman and Mrs Sykes have worked with families and teenagers for many years.

They believe that parenting teenagers should be fun and extremely rewarding, and are inviting parents to attend who feel there are no real guidelines on how to raise healthy and happy adults.

The session will cover topics such as emotional development, how to enable adolescents to feel loved and trusted, how to communicate and listen and how to set boundaries.

Parents will have the opportunity to explore challenges and learn new skills in a confidential environment.

Mrs Norman said: "Should parents try to control their teenagers and risk alienating them, or should they let them find out for themselves about life's pitfalls? Parents can end up feeling damned if they do or damned if they don't."

For more information contact Mrs Norman on 01225 783132 or Mrs Sykes on 01225 722123.

Good grief what a load of crap, treat them like human beings not like an endangered species.
No wonder this country is going down the pan.

"Mrs Norman said: "Should parents try to control their teenagers and risk alienating them?"

I can't believe she is asking this. A total lack of control is called anarchy and can be seen in too many drunken teenaged louts in many a Melksham pub;
