Date set for town beer festival

THE fifth Bradford on Avon Beer & Cider Festival will take place at the Bradford Rugby Football Club on May 9-11, culminating in the Invitation Rugby Sevens on the Sunday afternoon.

There will be 30 ales and 10 ciders and perries on offer, with hot and cold food available too.

Live music during the evenings comes from the Tony Roberts Quintet playing jazz on Friday and Start! and Stoned F playing heavier rock music on Saturday.

A shuttle bus will run between the railway station and the clubhouse throughout the Friday and Saturday sessions.

There will also be a small flotilla of air-balloons taking off on the Saturday and Sunday mornings at 6am and Saturday evening at 6pm, weather permitting.

Tickets are £5 for the evening sessions (6-11:30pm) and £3.50 for the Saturday afternoon (noon-4pm), and are available from the clubhouse, The Dog & Fox, The Castle Inn, The Beehive Inn or the Tourist Information Centre. Entry to the Sunday session (and Sevens) is free but does not include a complementary festival glass.

For more details visit www.boarugby.co.uk or call (01225) 309003/ 866829.
