Teens in court on harassment charge

A GROUP of teenagers accused of involvement in a six-year hate campaign against a west Wiltshire milkman appeared before magistrates in Chippenham on Friday.

The teenagers, from Bradford on Avon, allegedly set up a website bragging about their crimes which was secretly monitored by police officers.

Luke Hammerton and Samuel Jordan, of Avon Close, and Gradyn Runyeard-Hunt, of Winsley Road, all 18 years old, along with a 17-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons, are jointly accused of waging a six-year campaign of harassment against dairyman Michael Bulling and his staff dating back to 2001.

They are accused of repeatedly stealing his milk float, following milkmen on their rounds, stealing dairy products from doorsteps and posting offensive messages on the internet.

In addition, Hammerton, Jordan, Runyeard-Hunt and the 17-year-old, along with 18-year-old Ashley Keirl, of Kingston Avenue, are accused of stealing £150 of dairy products from Planks Dairy in Poulshot, Devizes on September 11 last year.

The five did not enter pleas in court and were all released on unconditional bail until the next court hearing on May 14.
