Food fair revamp revealed

THE inaugural Vegging Out food fair at Bradford on Avon Arts Festival last year was such a success it has been transformed into Bradfood on Avon, an event for omnis, veggies and vegans.

Bradfood's main event will be held on the September 14 at St Margaret's Hall where guests can sample a variety of dishes from local restaurateurs.

Top local chefs will give demonstrations throughout the day and visitors will be able to taste and buy local produce from exhibitors including.

Fat Fowl chef Gary Say, chair of Bradfood, said: "There is a real passion for fine food in our town which is shown in the quality and diversity of food available.

"Bradfood on Avon will give everyone a chance to see the talent that exists within the community and the fantastic produce that we have available on our doorstep."

As part of the growing interest in fine foods and beverages, local residents are invited to create a special festival drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic version) or a festival dessert.

Entry forms are available at the Tourist Information Centre and judging will take place on September 14.

The winning recipes will become the official Arts Festival drink and dessert and will be featured on the menus of local restaurants during the festival period each year.

Local restaurants and producers who are interested in becoming part of Bradfood can contact Gary Say at gary.say@googlemail.com The Bradford on Avon Arts Festival runs from September 12-21. Tickets for Bradfood Day are £5 or £17 for a family of four with two children under-12.
