Police plea after hit and run

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a hit and run in Bradford on Avon which left a pedestrian with minor injuries.

The incident happened on Winsley Road near the junction with Churches at around 6pm yesterday.

An 18-year-old local man was walking across Winsley Road, apparently using the Pelican crossing, when a blue vehicle - thought to be a Ford Focus travelling from Winsley - struck him causing minor injuries.

The offending vehicle then left the scene in the direction of Bradford on Avon town centre.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact Pc Nigel Willcocks at Trowbridge Police Station on 0845 4087000.

If the driver is local then they will be using the route every day, shouldn't be too difficult to nab

Common sense chaps :)
If not that route then one of the others should do the trick in catching them.

I also thought that with this all singing all dancing database that will, without fail, nab us if we do not pay our taxes on cars, should know EXACTLY where all the blue focus cars are in the area.

However, thats not what its for is it....

Note that it is suspected to be a Ford Focus, not definitely a Focus, so you can't go stopping everyone with a Focus.

Second, with the fiasco that is the A36 closure, many more vehicles are taking paths through BOA, which will make it more difficult to find.

It wasn't a Ford Focus. It was a Trebant that escaped from Troskibridgeski. Just follow the smoke trail and distinctive engine noise.

I know somebody who arrived at the scene before the police and apparently the youth that got hit was only worried about retrieving all his cider bottles from out of the road before the police saw it. Says something ..maybe?
