Road closed after three-vehicle crash

ROADBLOCKS have been set up near the scene of a three-vehicle crash near Holt this morning.

Two fire crews and an emergency support unit have been called to the scene to cut some of the motorists free from their vehicles.

The smash has closed the Melksham Road from West Midlands Farmers roundabout and drivers are being advised to find alternative routes.

It happened at 11am by the West Wilts Equestrian Centre and involved a silver Toyota Corolla, a blue Rover and a white Vauxhall Cavalier.

One of the motorists has received whiplash injuries and the Great Western Ambulance Service is also in attendance, as are the police.

The road is expected to be closed for a further 90 minutes.

Just waiting for one of the drivers involved to wheel out the current favourite excuse: 'I swerved to avoid an animal'. A horse presumably in this case!

As a driver involved in this incident, I can catergorically say I didn't swerve or brake to avoid an animal. I lost control of my automobile because I was laughing uncontrollably at one of your hilarious "social observations"!
