AFTER four years as a town councillor in Corsham, Jasvir Singh has resigned to concentrate on other priorities.
Mr Singh, who runs the Barnett Brothers store in High Street with his wife Sanjeevan, wants to spend more time with his young family and consider a future on the new Wiltshire Council.
He said: "When the unitary authority comes into effect I want to try and get on that.
"Being in Corsham all the time I see first hand the problems people have and I want to try and get onto the new Wiltshire Council so I can still help make a difference in the town."
Mr Singh who has three children, Yasmin, 13, Judge, 10 and Yash, six, said he spends a lot of time abroad due to his work as a freelance creative director in advertising.
Mr Singh has lived in Corsham for nine years and been involved with the council since 2004.
