Pc impresses on day one of job

A PC on her first shift as an officer has been praised for her quick and effective response to a burglary in Corsham this week.

The direct actions of PC Georgina Calderbank led to the arrest of six people following a break in at the Pickwick Motors on Monday night.

At around midnight a member of the public reported suspicious activity at the garage and a silver Audi was seen driving off at high speed.

PC Calderbank, who is currently undertaking the final stages of tutorship arrived at the scene with her tutor PC Emma Reed.

The pair qucikly established there was CCTV footage of the offenders on the premises and circulated descriptions of the suspects to other officers.

As enquiries were being made, a further report was recieved at 1.30am that alarms had been set off at the Shoe Garage in North Wraxhall near Chippenham and attempts had been made to break in.

As a direct result of PC Calderbank's actions a vehicle was spotted on the A420 at Wick matching the description of that involved in the Corsham burglary and the suspects inside.

Five men and one woman all aged between 17 and 25 and from Bristol were arrested on suspicion of the burglaries and have been released on police bail until June 10.

PC Calderbank said: "I feel proud that I have contributed to the effective investigation and arrest of suspects, and that I am part of an organisation committed to delivering a safer community."

Enjoy it while it last Pc CALDERBANK its all downhill from here on in. Prepare yourself for the fact that even if CPS put these thieving tykes before the court the magistrates will let them off anyway.

However.. well done & congratualtions on catching these 'Day Tripper' criminals.

On her first shift she makes an arrest. Obviously unlike the rest of Plods around here she takes here job seriously, that will soon wear-off.
