A website dedicated to the Wiltshire 2012 Festival of Celebration has launched.

The festival, expected to attract thousands of people, is being held on July 11 at Salisbury’s Hudson’s Field to celebrate the Olympic Torch passing through the county.

The new website, www.wiltshire.gov.uk/festivalofcelebration, will give up-to-date information so people can find everything need to know to have a great day out.

A big part of the festival will be the live entertainment throughout the day, and the website will keep everyone updated on the performers as they are confirmed.

To make it as easy as possible for people to plan their day, it will also contain information on the best way to get to Hudson’s Field including details of the Park & Ride facilities, parking available in Salisbury city centre during the day and local accommodation which people may wish to stay in.

To kick off the Wiltshire 2012 Festival of Celebration a business breakfast is being held for organisations throughout Wiltshire.

They can find out how to be part of the breakfast, which will provide an opportunity for delegates to meet, share ideas and develop relationships, by visiting the website.

More information will be uploaded in the build up to the festival.

Council leader Jane Scott said: "This festival has something for the whole family and we want to encourage as many people as possible from across the county to come along and have a great day.

"This website will be an excellent place to keep people up to date on all of the exciting things we have in store and help them plan for a memorable day."
