THE Tories moved even closer to virtual domination of West Wiltshire District Council with a double victory in Westbury Laverton.

Georgie Denison-Pender and Sue Ezra both won seats on the authority for the first time, polling 703 and 676 votes respectivly.

Labour's Dot Large and Christine Mitchell were left to rue their defeat.

Cllr Denison-Pender said: "It is my first time standing. It's great. For the moment I am going to listen and learn.

"I'm very pleased and excited."
