Louise Smith
Louise is a working mum and proud of the fact. She is actively involved in activities in which her children participate and is passionately concerned over the protection of Open Space.
Together with her Labour Party colleagues she wrote the Town Green application for Dorset Crescent.
Louise strongly feels that open spaces should be protected and no one, builders, councils or anyone else should build houses on what is a very precious community resource.
Louise has two other major concerns, more facilities for the elderly and more and better sports facilities for youngsters.
In West Wiltshire there are over four thousand youngsters, boys and girls, playing and involved in youth football.
Another thousand are involved in Rugby but there are a vast range of other sports which do not have basic child protection facilities such as dressing and changing rooms for the children. She feels this is unacceptable.
Louise feels we can never do enough for the elderly. These are people who have shaped our society, fought for and built the world, the community in which we live and their needs should always be met.
Too often we depend on families to support their elderly relatives and family members who are in this position also need support.
