Richard lives at Shurnhold, Melksham, with his wife Pamela, they have three older children. A local man, he works in construction and development.
He had responsibility for environmental issues as a District Council cabinet member and has gained insights into the many voluntary and statutory local organisations as a town councillor and council chairman.
He supports the new Melksham 1st development trust and others identifying needs of young and old, and accessing funds not available to councils.
Chairing Melksham Trust, he believes that a restored Wilts & Berks canal will reinvigorate the area.
