Daring Wiltshire women have helped to raise thousands of pounds for Help For Heroes after stripping down to their underwear for a charity calendar.

The Fox Hunters calendar, which was created and organised by Trowbridge photographer David Betteridge, has raised in excess of £6,000 for Help For Heroes, Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Hampshire Air Ambulance.

Mr Betteridge, who lives off Silver Street Lane, said: “We have raised almost £2,000 more than last year so far and we have still got orders coming in. I am really pleased with the success.”

The photographer decided on including Help For Heroes as one of the chosen charities to benefit from the calendar as he thought it was an ‘excellent cause’.

“I think it is a great charity and when I spoke to people about which charities we should support for the 2011 calendar, most people said Help For Heroes.”

The images for each month were shot at various locations around Wiltshire involving women volunteers of various ages, including the photographer’s wife Julia.

It was launched for a second year following its success at the end of 2009, raising £4,200 for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and Cancer Research.

Mr Betteridge said: “I think we will be doing another calendar. I don’t think I have any other option as I have had such a huge response from people asking whether we are doing another one.

“I think we will have quite a few volunteers both new and those who have featured in this year’s calendar.”

The Foxy Hunters calendar was initially produced by Mr Betteridge in 2009 after friend and Trowbridge PCSO Maria Badder was seriously injured during a team chase event at Newbury and was airlifted to hospital.

The calendar (£10) is still available at www.foxyhunters.co.uk.
