Plalyers from Bradford Town Youth Football Club walked eight miles along the Avon and Kennet canal, to raise money for an under-11s trip to Holland.
The team went from Bathampton to Bradford on Avon, raising £2,700 through sponsorship and shaking donation buckets. Steven Stanley, 11, was recognised for raising the most, with £288 so far.
Darryl Beecham, 41, managing director of Rotamec, is a member of the committee and organised the event to support the week’s tour in May.
Mr Beecham, of Steeple Ashton, said: “The children really enjoyed the trip and were very well behaved.”
The tour, costing £9,000, will involve tournaments and educational trips for 22 children and eight parents. Appeal events so far have included a curry night, a 1980s disco, a coffee morning and quiz night.
A charity football match between the team’s fathers will take place in February, along with another disco.
The total now stands at £6,500.
