It has been a successful year for the 10 residents of Abbeyfield Bradford on Avon, who were delighted to share their garden with Secret Gardens visitors this summer.

Two members of the weekly art group, which is open to non-residents, entered the national EAC art awards competition and were highly commended.

Throughout the summer residents enjoyed organised trips to various places of interest chosen by themselves, and soon staff will be visiting a local restaurant for a pre-Christmas celebration lunch.

In collaboration with Wiltshire College students, the residents participated in the making of a short video about the House which will shortly be available to see on the website, www.abbeyfield.com/bradford-on-avon-society.

The residents found the filming process a new and exciting experience. It made them all appreciate how lucky they are to live in such a beautiful place.

Abbeyfield Bradford on Avon, on Trowbridge Road, provides sheltered housing for elderly people which provides affordable accommodation, freeing them from the worries of maintaining a house and garden, paying bills and dealing with loneliness.

Residents at Abbeyfield can come and go as they please and each has their own studio flat with private facilities which they can furnish to their own taste. Two healthy home cooked meals a day are served in the dining room, lunch and high tea, and supportive staffs are on hand when required.
