A Bradford on Avon fundraising team started pedalling their way towards raising £9,000 for a woman’s cancer challenge at Sainsbury’s this weekend.
Bradford residents Lesley Lay, Sonya Stephens and Gail Mason have signed up to the Women v Cancer challenge – a women-only group of cyclists riding through Tanzania in October 2015.
Teams from across the UK will cycle about 216 miles over five days to support Breast Cancer Care, Ovarian Cancer Action and Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust.
Team BoA held their first fundraiser, an eight-hour static cycle ride and bag pack, on Saturday raising £1,098.56.
Mrs Stephens said: “It was very humbling. People were coming up to us who were going through treatment or had family members going through similar things.”
