Year 12 students from St Laurence School set the ball rolling for their project to help a community farm in eastern Romania with a fundraising bag pack at Sainsbury’s on Saturday.
The 11 Bradford on Avon students raised almost £700.
Caroline Watson, chairman of the St Laurence School Association, said: “The customers were genuinely grateful for the assistance and the teenagers were able to inform them about their scheme to fund and erect polytunnels next summer when they visit the country.”
