An appreciative audience filled Holy Trinity Church in Bradford on Avon to hear popular Christian singer and human rights campaigner Garth Hewitt share songs and stories from over 40 years of performing.

It was hosted by Bradford on Avon Churches Together and Bradford on Avon Friends of Palestine (BoAFOP) so it was appropriate that much of the material performed drew upon Garth’s career as a Christian singer but also on his longstanding commitment to peace and justice in the Middle East.

During the concert, the audience was captivated by his tale and song about the gospel singer Mahalia Jackson urging Dr Martin Luther King to “tell ‘em about the dream”, and by a sequence of songs and poems about Gaza.
Garth also found time to invite local singer and sound engineer for the night, Blake, on stage to perform a song.
During the interval, the audience was able to
enjoy soft drinks and
wine and look around a number of stalls including ones run by BoAFOP and the Amos Trust, a human rights organisation founded by Garth Hewitt, as well as buy Palestinian goods from the Zaytoun Organisation.
Proceeds from the sale
of tickets were shared between BoAFOP and the Amos Trust.
