CHRISTINE’S Sustainable Supermarket in Bradford on Avon is celebrating this month after being awarded gold at the South West Fairtrade Business Awards.
The awards, now in their third year, congratulates businesses that demonstrate a commitment to using and promoting Fairtrade products.
Last year, the fair-trade supermarket was awarded silver and Chris Giles, who owns the shop in Silver Street, said: “It is just really nice to be recognised for what we do for Fairtrade and everything we sell is as Fairtrade as we can get it.”
The popularity of the event has grown this year with organisers seeing a 40 per cent increase in applications and a 100 per cent increase in gold award winners.
