Bradford on Avon police had their response car damaged on Friday evening after youths smashed the windscreen.
PC Pelling and PCSO MacLachlan from the neighbourhood police team located a large group of youths in Barton Farm on Friday evening - the majority of them being under the age of 18
This followed reports from members of the public of youths smashing bottles in the town and being rowdy in a local shop.
The officers said none of the group could produce ID so they tipped away their alcohol and asked them to disperse.
When the officers returned to the response patrol car, the windscreen had been smashed by a stone.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting log 327.
