THE Wiltshire Air Ambulance has welcomed a £200 donation from a summer tea party thrown by the Bradford on Avon & District Flower Club in Holt.
Almost 40 people attended the annual event, organised by Jilly Heath, which featured stalls selling cakes, plants and other items, some in aid of the National Association of Flower Arranging Societies.
Committee member Margaret Murray said: “We were very happy with the total raised. Holt is a small village so for our size it was a very good amount.”
“We had a great troop of support and it was a lovely afternoon, especially as the weather was so good.
“It is such an important charity and it is very nice and helpful that we have an air ambulance in the south west what with all the cuts, we are going to become more dependent on them than before.”
The club’s next event is at St Laurence School, Bradford on Avon, with a Christmas demonstration on November 4, at 7.30pm, an event which is always their biggest demonstration of the year.
