A DOZEN employees at a Bradford on Avon engineering firm will tackle the National Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Dorothy House Hospice Care on May 28.

The owners of Steve Vick International, Steve and Angela Vick, will be flanked by 10 of their colleagues in this 24-hour challenge and have already raised £6,500, smashing their target of £300.

The team will begin their daunting task by climbing Scotland's 1,345m Ben Nevis, then the 978m Scafell Pike in the Lake District and finally the 1,085m climb of Snowdon in Wales.

Several years ago a Steve Vick staff member who was terminally ill was cared for by the hospice and Mr and Mrs Vick have donated to the charity ever since.

PR assistant and marketing assistant Charlotte Henwood, one of the 12 walkers, said: "We are raring to go. Everyone is really excited and we have a lovely group of people taking part and raising money for a brilliant cause.

"It started from wanting to do a team building exercise and here we are getting ready for the Three Peaks Challenge. We are really pleased with how much we have raised and the money is still pouring in."

In total, the hikers will walk 42km and a height of 3,407m.
