THE INAUGURAL Holt Street Party and fancy dress parade was a roaring success, attracting more than 200 people as part of the Queen's 90th celebrations.
From 1-6.30pm on Saturday, locals, both young and old, were treated to Morris dancing, games, stalls and magicians as part of the fancy dress theme of Crowns and Royalty at Ham Green and the specially converted village car park..
Village Hall trustee David Underwood said: "We were extraordinarily fortunate with the weather as the forecast was dreadful. Thankfully the rain held off and this wonderful event was the better for it.
"The amount of positive emails I have received thanking us and saying how good it was was quite a surprise and pretty hefty.
""The magician was brilliant. The kids were falling over themselves it was that good. Everyone had a really good time, there was a wonderful community spirit - it was just a great success."
