HUNDREDS of art enthusiasts were drawn to Westbury Gardens on Sunday (August 7) to take in the annual art display of the Bradford on Avon Lions Club.

From 11am-4pm, artists from the town and surrounding areas showcased around 80 paintings, with the proceeds going towards community causes.

Paintings ranged from landscapes, black and white drawings, photos and much more.

Chairman Chris Penny, who is now the last remaining original member of the group since it began 46 years ago, was pleased and impressed with the displays on offer.

"The quality of the paintings on display were very high. I was very impressed with the work which is a nice way to showcase local talent and a fair few paintings were sold," he said.

"The weather was just perfect. It could not have been any better which made the day that much better.

"A lot of effort went into organising this, for the seventh successive year, and thankfully the event went well - we should be back next year with a bit of luck."

The Lions Club is a worldwide charitable society devoted to social and international service.
