THE Olympic fairytale of Bradford on Avon's silver medal winning swimmer Jazz Carlin may yet continue when she takes to the pool again tomorrow (Saturday, August 13).

Residents across Bradford on Avon could not be prouder of the 25-year-old who stormed to the best performance of her life on Monday to claim second in the 400m freestyle.

Ms Carlin, who had her London 2012 dreams shattered when she was struck down by glandular fever, now has her eyes set on more glory when she lines up for the 800m freestyle.

The eyes of the town where she lives will be willing on Ms Carlin, who was 'gobsmacked' by the result, and going by the heats, where she clocked the third fastest time, she could be on course for a medal yet again.

"She is a hero to me and so inspiring. It is just incredible what she has achieved," said her 12-year-old neighbour Isabella Geddes.
