TWO men were arrested this morning after police discovered £25,000 worth of cannabis at an orchard in Bradford Leigh.

A total of 13 police officers arrived at Avonleigh Organic Vineyard and Orchard shortly before 9am to discover 150 cannabis plants in two polytunnels.

The men, who were at the address at the time of the search and were in their 30's, were both arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and taken into custody.

Police Sergeant Simon Wright, who was at the scene, said: "We were given some information by a member of the public last week and as a result of that we have made some enquiries which led to running this operation.

"The owner and another man have been arrested and at the moment we are carrying out an extensive search of the site.

"This is the biggest discovery of cannabis the local area has seen in a year or so.

"This will certainly impact the dealing of cannabis in the local area as this is a very significant amount in that supply chain."
