A 45-YEAR-OLD man arrested on suspicion of the murder of Bradford Leigh woman Melanie Hall has had his bail extended for a third time.
The man was arrested by Avon and Somerset Police on June 23 as part of their 20-year investigation into the 25-year-old’s death.
After being re-bailed on July 7 and once again on August 11, now the suspect has had his bail extended again until later this month.
Ms Hall was last seen at the former Cadillacs nightclub in Walcot Street, Bath, in the early hours of June 9, 1996.
Her remains were found in vegetation off the northbound slipway at near junction 14 of the M5 near Thornbury in 2009.
On June 9, exactly 20 years on from the day she disappeared, her parents Steve and Pat Hall offered a reward of £50,000 to help find the killer and police also issued a renewed appeal.
That reward was then matched by The Sun Newspaper to increase it to £100,000 in July.
Over the course of the investigation, which has seen 10 people arrested by nobody has ever been charged, police have received more than 1,700 call from members of the public in relation to the case and have taken approximately 1,600 statements too.
