BORN and bred Bradfordian Bryan Lywood, who spent his entire working life at the Spencer Moulton rubber factory, died on October 12 aged 71.

He was born in 1945 to parents Doreen and Howard Lywood, who later had his one sibling, Pauline.

After working his way up through what are now Fitzmaurice and St Laurence schools, at the age of 15 Mr Lywood began what would become a 46-year career as a moulder.

He married Janet, nee Speedy, in 1963, and the couple set up home in Southville Close.

They had three children, Stephen, Mark and John and he also had four grandchildren in Marcus and Emily and Ben and Jessica.

Outside of work and his family, Mr Lywood was a big football fan. Over the years he played in goal for many local teams and made many lifelong friends along the way.

He was also fond of caravan holidays. The family regularly went to Dawlish Warren in Devon, and when his children left home, him and his wife often travelled abroad.

Mr Lywood, who retired in 2006 at the age of 61, was also a passionate dancer. His wife Janet recalls how he used to dance the night away at Melksham Rock and Roll club where he spent many happy times with his friends.

"Everyone who knew Bryan will have happy memories of him and a smile on their faces as he had a lovely personality," said Mrs Lywood.

Mr Lywood died at Bath's Royal United Hospital. His funeral is on November 2 at 12.15pm at Semington Crematorium. Donations to Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
