TWO YOUNG boys from Bradford on Avon were given the opportunity of a lifetime when they both met Liverpool FC striker Daniel Sturridge.

After Ciaran and Geordan Houlihan, aged 13 and 9 respectively, were taken by their father Owen and mother Heidi on October 25 to watch the Liverpool-Spurs match at Anfield, the family thought they would chance it and see if they could get an autograph after the game from some of the Liverpool squad.

Mr Houlihan, of Downs Close in Bradford on Avon, said: “A couple of the players came over and signed and we saw a few others but because it was late we headed back to the car. The car park was nearly empty but we spotted Sturridge’s white Rolls Royce parked up. We saw Sturridge getting out of the car so the boys went over to see if they could get an autograph, he said yes and then said that it was their lucky day and got two of his shirts out of the boot and gave them to Ciaran and Geordan. They were over the moon.”

As the family of four were pulling away in their car, the star striker jogged back over to the car to ask if he could have a picture with the overjoyed youngsters.

“He asked if he could put a picture on Instagram with the kids and the shirts. My phone was out of battery so we used his, he said that he would tag Ciaran in the picture as he is on Instagram too. He is a lovely guy, Ciaran was a bit gutted to begin with as he didn’t get a chance to get an autograph at first but now he has a shirt. We are going to frame them both,” added Mr Houlihan.
