FITZMAURICE School pupils sang their hearts out in Bradford on Avon's Westbury Gardens on Friday (December 16) with a host of Christmas carols.

More than 100 locals gathered round the Year 3-6 pupils, some of whom sang as a choir, played ukuleles or did solo performances.

This is the first time the school has sung in Westbury Gardens, as their normal venue at the Holy Trinity Church as it was not ready for use yet.

Headteacher Tracey Dunn said: "It was brilliant and a wonderful way to bring the school term to a close. I am really proud with how they all sung and we had so much lovely feedback from the big crowd.

"Although they were a little nervous, they really enjoyed themselves and who knows this could be the start of a new tradition."

Before the concert, Year 6 pupil Ibby, said: "I am really looking forward to singing with my classmates."

Year 5 Toby, who did a short solo, added: "I am sure we will smash it."
