THE winners of the Bradford on Avon Christmas Elf Trail were announced after a month of name collecting around the town.
Businesses throughout Bradford on Avon displayed a festive elf in their shops during December, tasking children to visit thirty of the stores and find out the names of each individual Christmas puppet.
Jackie Allan, owner of Piha and organiser of the trail, said: “I organised the trail for 2 reasons. One was that people use to ask what was going on in Bradford on Avon in the run up to Christmas and although we had events on one off days we didn't have something to do the whole time.”
In total, 55 children entered the competition and attended the prize draw at 11am in Lamb Yard on Christmas Eve. Taking first place and winning a prize of a brand new bike, donated from The Bear Inn, went to Grace Kidney, second place to Laura Wilson, third to Charlotte McCartney, fourth to Amelia Wallis, fifth place to Olivia Cooper, sixth place to the Barker family and seventh place to Kay Roberts.
“This allowed us to say we have the elf trail and suggest that they come and do it. Secondly to showcase the businesses we have in the town, getting people to walk around and see what is on offer. Rewardingly, this really worked well on both accounts,” added Mrs Allan.
