PACKETS of cigarettes and pouches of tobacco were stolen from a Co-operative shop in Bradford on Avon at the weekend.
Just before midnight on Saturday, a group of youths smashed the front door of the shop in Winsley Road with a rock and raided the area behind the counter, taking tobacco products and a number of scratchcards.
It is not yet known how much they stole but employee Kieran Sturgess said it was a ‘considerable amount’.
The door has been temporarily boarded up until it is properly repaired and a security guard has been employed to patrol the area overnight in the meantime.
