IT was lights, camera, action at St Laurence School as pupils strutted their stuff at the Year 11 fashion show which raised more than £1,000.

A total of 80 pupils from the Bradford on Avon School took part in the event, be it through modelling, waiting tables, playing music, selling raffle tickets, doing hair and make up or taking photos of the night.

Thanks to their teamwork and creativity, the hugely successful fashion show, which was from the 1920's to present day, raised more than £1,000, all of which will go towards the Year 11 prom this summer.

"It was a fabulous way for year 11 to commemorate their final year," said Louise Butt, a parent and organiser of the event.

"Whether they were modelling, making decorations, waiting tables, playing in one of the three bands, photographing the catwalks or helping behind the scenes, the total of 80 students involved really pulled together to create a very memorable night. And those in the year who didn’t participate, came along on the night to support their friends."

The fashion show, which took place at the school on January 20, also received a £750 donation from Trowbridge-based Web Creation UK to help with their prom.
