AN innovative guitar maker is set to launch his new business on Sunday evening at the Tithe Barn in Bradford on Avon.

Felix Byrne, 53, started up Acoustic Guitar Innovation in 2013 and stocks his eco-friendly guitars in a number of shops in the area, as well as garnering interest from as far as California.

Mr Byrne, from Holt, said: “I’m a product designer and musician by training and I’m also into sustainability, so my business incorporates all three aspects.

“I have always wanted to make a guitar and I wanted to go against the grain with my design, so I use materials which are not considered to be traditional.

“There’s been a lot of interest in the business so far and I see Sunday evening as the official launch – the marker that I’m actually going to do this full time.”

After the launch night, which will take place between 6pm-9pm and is open to members of the public, the 10 guitars Mr Byrne has hand-crafted over the past two months will be on display in the Tithe Barn workshop.

Since starting the business in 2013, the luthier has spent most of his time on research and development, but will step up production after next week.

His guitars sell for around £500 and buyers have commented on their sleek design and high quality sound.

At the launch night there will be also be a raffle of a unique guitar, music performances, wine and nibbles.
