DOROTHY House Hospice Care has reason to celebrate this week after a law firm raised more than £23,000 for the Winsley charity.

Lawyers and staff from the Bath office of UK Top 100 law firm Royds Withy King have raised £23,361 for their charity of choice over the last two years.

Some of the fund-raising activities included two Bath Half Marathons, monthly dress down days, an auction of promises, raffles and a sponsored cycle ride from Bath to Paris.

Henrietta Beard, corporate fundraiser at the charity, said: "We are immensely grateful for the support from the dynamic team at Royds Withy King. In the last two years, they have donated a truly impressive sum which will be a substantial help to the Hospice and our patients.

"Everyone at Royds Withy King has been a delight to work with throughout our two year collaboration. I think they must have the most enthusiastic and fittest staff in Bath after doing the Bath half marathon twice and cycling to Paris to name just a few of their many sporting endeavours in aid of Dorothy House. We look forward to working together again in the future.”

Nicola Cutler, who is the charities co-ordinator at the law firm, added:"We have had an incredibly rewarding two years raising funds for Dorothy House Hospice Care during a very special time for the charity as they celebrated their 40th anniversary.

"We have learnt so much about the amazing work that the charity does in our community for so many people and without the support of volunteers and fundraisers this could not be done. Our relationship with the fundraising team has been fantastic and their support for everything we have done has been invaluable."
