ST LAURENCE SCHOOL invited businesses across Wiltshire to a celebratory buffet to thank them for hosting their pupils on their work experience weeks.

Business representatives in sectors such as hospitality and catering, health and social care, IT, art, architecture, farming, construction, sports and leisure, childcare and retail attended the event at the Bradford on Avon School last Thursday which was for Year 10 pupils.

The event was hosted by the Careers Team as a way of celebrating a successful week of work experience for the pupils and as an opportunity to thank the assembled employers for their help.

Madeleine Clarkson, Maisy Charlton and Lily Powell presented first-hand accounts of their placements at Warminster Hospital, Kiddiwinks Preschool in Trowbridge and Hand-Crafted Mirrors, Bradford on Avon.

Headteacher, Fergus Stewart, said: "We are grateful to those employers who have mentored our students during their work experience placements.

"This collaboration between the school and different industry sectors offers our students, what is usually, their first real window into the world of work and the feedback that we receive following work experience week is usually overwhelmingly positive from employers and students alike."

Pupils did their work experience week between June 5-9.
