SOUTHERN Co-op’s Local Flavours VW camper van visited Bradford on Avon on Thursday as part of its ten-year anniversary.

The Co-op promotions team are celebrating the supermarket retail company’s support for local British food and drink producers.

Accompanying the Co-op team, was Solomon Rimer, co-owner of Wiltshire food producer Wilton Wholefoods.

Solomon said: “We have a fantastic relationship with Southern Co-op and enjoy working with them due to their community based ethos.

“It was good to get out and see some of the customersw. The feedback was excellent and they were very friendly and receptive.

“I saw many of the people we had spoken to leaving the store with bags of the goods we had sampled so it was well worth the trip.”

Since Wilton Wholefoods has been working with Southern Co-op it has increased its business and employed more staff to meet the increase in sales.

Southern Co-op’s Local Flavours camper van is travelling across ten counties this summer, visiting Kent, Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire, West Sussex, the Isle of Wight, Dorset, Wiltshire, Somerset and Devon.

Mr Rimer runs the family business, Wilton Wholefoods, along with his wife, Nicola and brother, Daniel.

They founded Wilton Wholefoods in 1988, starting out as a market stall called ‘Sunrize Wholefoods’ and still run the market stall today.

Wilton Wholefoods specialises in packing the tastiest snacks, wholesome wholefoods and original cereals and granolas.

The company now employs 14 full time members of staff and packs its own branded products in Downton on the Wiltshire/Hampshire border.

The family sources the products from trusted independent importers and have earned a reputation for offering premium quality at great value prices.

All its mixes and granolas are blended to unique recipes and the company’s products can now be found in more than 500 stores across the UK.
