A well-known and popular pub in Bradford on Avon has been named in a top 10 list of the best pubs with rooms for a very British staycation in the UK.

The Inn Places Guide to good pubs has listed Timbrell’s Yard as the ‘Best Pub for Souvenir Hunters’ due to its proximity to Bath and nearby fantastic independent shops.

Inn Places has been set up by pub industry expert and former AA Inspector, Sawday's Guides editor and Top 10 Gastropub Judge, David Hancock, to help people find the very best pubs to stay at for top class rooms, food and drink.

David’s review said: “Timbrell’s Yard in Bradford on Avon is a stunning riverside property, explore the independent shops in the town, or take the train to Georgian Bath for some serious retail therapy.

“Lovingly transformed into a very stylish inn and one that combines traditional features with contemporary design, there’s a passion for local producers, good modern food is served all day, and comfortable rooms are quirky and fun – the best have river views.”

Mike McKinlay, deputy general manager at Timbrell’s Yard, said: “That’s wonderful. I personally was not aware that we had been visited by the Inn Place Guide but we are very proud of what we do here.

“We have a location that perfect. It’s absolutely stunning. We have 17 rooms, some of them with views overlooking the river and Holy Trinity Church.”

The pub is owned and managed by the Stay Original Company based in Pilton, Somerset. The company has four other pubs in Somerton, Wedmore, Shaftesbury and Dorchester.

With summer holidays on the way, Mr Hancock, a pub industry expert and founder of www.InnPlaces.co.uk, is calling on holidaymakers to consider pubs for the ultimate British staycation.

He says that uniquely home-grown pubs offer buckets of personality and a great welcome to families, dogs and for those that like things with a quintessentially British flavour.
