A NEW family-friendly show for children comes to the Wiltshire Music Centre in Bradford on Avon on Sunday, October 1.

Dr Dee's Daughter and the Philosopher's Stone blends music, puppetry and storytelling, with themes of history, magic and science.

It tells the story of Katherine, the daughter of Dr Dee – alchemist, astronomer and magician in the court of Queen Elizabeth I – and his abandoned quest to discover the Philosopher’s Stone, the Elixir of Life.

Aimed at families with children aged between 7 and 12, the show will start at 3pm and is one of six performances in venues and festivals across the country.

It is being performed by the award-winning recorder quartet, Palisander, who are joined by puppet theatre company Rust and Stardust, and is supported by Arts Council England.
