A TEAM of local cyclists from Bradford on Avon have conquered a French mountain to raise funds for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
The Woolley Wheelers cycled up the 1,912-metre Mont Ventoux in Provence and hope to raise £2,000 from donations and sponsorship.
The cyclists, who are based at The George, Woolley, are Brian Lewis, Chris Stickland, Alex Venables, head chef at The George, Jan and Paul Hepworth.
They were supported by Norma Stickland, Manjit Kaur and Alison Ward Baptiste, Manager of the George.
Remarkably, it was Alex Venables' first ride in five weeks following a broken shoulder from a cycling injury.
It was also Jan Hepworth's first major ride after 10 weeks following a fall in which she cracked a patella, broke an ankle and suffered a fractured wrist.
The Woolley Wheelers’ fundraising continues. If you wish to contribute, please go to justgiving.com/brian_lewis12.
