A WEST Wiltshire theatre group is calling on all young actors and theatre makers to join them for a whirlwind of theatre workshops exploring and exploding fairy stories.

The Twisted Tales workshops are free and will take place in Corsham and Bradford on Avon in October and November.

They are being offered by The Last Baguette Theatre Company which warns - be prepared to twist and tangle traditional folk tales.

Spokesperson Sidney Robb said: “Ever fancied yourself as a wizard, imp or fairy but bored of the same old story?

“Come along and create your own tale, using characters from classic fairy tales and shaking up the plot, or pick modern day characters and create your own contemporary tale."

The Last Baguette is the theatre company in residence at the Pound Arts Centre in Corsham and uses costume and music to create characters and atmosphere.

Sidney added: “We’re giving youngster the opportunity to learn about theatre, build confidence, make new friends and have fun.

“Our free workshops are offered to primary aged children and to young people at secondary school in separate groups.”

The Last Baguette tours to theatres, festivals and arts centres across the country. The company have performed in the UK, France, Switzerland and Canada and the theatre they make is entertaining, accessible and eccentric.

The company lead weekly youth theatre sessions for young people at the Pound Arts, Corsham, which includes regular public performances. They also lead community projects and arts events.

The special Twisted Tales theatre workshops accompany the company’s production of The Little Match Girl, a warming tale for winter, touring in December 2017.?They are supported by Corsham and Bradford on Avon Local Youth Networks, Arts Council England, the Wallace Curzon Charitable Trust and Pound Arts.
