ARTISTS from Freshford and the surrounding area showcased their work in an exhibition that attracted more than 450 visitors to the West Barn in Bradford on Avon this weekend.

This was the 13th time the Freshford and District Art Group put on a show at the venue, where locals gazed upon the paintings of landscapes, seascapes, animals, floral works and abstracts from 11am-6pm over the two days.

Secretary Ann Chapman was pleased with how the exhibition went, where 17 items were sold in what proved to be another successful event.

"Our members have been working hard to make this a success and going by the people who turned out and the compliments we received, I think we achieved that," she said.

"We do enjoy coming back here every year and it is nice that the people who buy the art can sometimes talk to the actual artists as our members took turns to be stewards across the weekend and also for the preview showing on Friday night.

"This is a really good venue for us as it is just the right size. There are a lot of talented artists in the group but we are always looking for more to join the ranks."

The group meets at Limpley Stoke Village Hall on Tuesday from 10am-midday and to get involved call 01225 866861.
