The death of an elderly man six days after he suffered a fall on a bus travelling between Bradford on Avon and Trowbridge has been discovered to be 'unrelated' the the incident on the 265 service, police have revealed.
The man, named on social media as Robert Southwood, who was in his 70s, died on Monday, following what was at first described as an incident on an evening bus from Bradford when he fell after the driver had to brake suddenly.
This afternoon Wiltshire Police issued a statement saying: "Following our investigations it has now been confirmed that the fall was not a contributory factor to the man's death a week later.
"Our enquiries have determined that the man did not sustain a head injury when he fell on the bus."
Following the man's death at the Royal United Hospital in Bath First Bus said it would investigate the incident and expressed sympathy to the man's family
