A REQUEST to help a popular Channel 4 TV series turned out to be good news for a Melksham bridal boutique.

Don’t Tell The Bride turned to Belle of the Ball in Melksham to help a Midlands groom organising every aspect of his wedding without his bride’s input.

The latest episode, screened on Wednesday at 9pm, featured adrenaline junkie Mark and his bride Lynsey, who wanted a straightforward no-nonsense wedding.

With £14,000 to spend and only three weeks to organise the big event, Mark was accompanied by his brother and a friend.

Annabel Devlin, the owner of Belle of the Ball, said: “Mark chose a strapless A-line gown by Alfred Angelo. In all, he spent about £1,000 on the gown and accessories.

“Lynsey came in with her mother and sister a day before the wedding to try it on.

“It could have been an absolute disaster but fortunately Lynsey loved the gown. She left the shop very happy and said it was lovely.”
