BOTH main roads through Bradford on Avon will be closed on different days in March for roadworks, including a whole day closure of the Town Bridge which means locals face a diversion through Trowbridge.

From 7pm to 12 midnight on March 11 and for 24 hours on March 18, St Margaret’s Street, part of Silver Street, Woolley Street and the B3107 Holt Road, including the Town Bridge, will be shut. A diversion will take traffic through Trowbridge.

The closure is to allow Virgin Media to undertake ducting works for future development, followed by Wiltshire Council doing carriageway reconstruction and associated works.

The A363 through Masons Lane and Market Street will also be closed from 7am-6pm on March 8, March 12 and March 23, and for 24 hours on March 21 and 22.

Traffic will be diverted via B3109 Mount Pleasant, New Road and Springfield to the B3107 Holt Road, Woolley Street and Silver Street and vice versa.

The council says access will be maintained for local residents and businesses where possible.
