Bradford on Avon festival to mark Fairtrade fortnight

The Fairplant Festival fun day is taking place between 10am and 3.30pm on Saturday, March 10 in St Margaret’s Hall, Bradford on Avon.

The free event is taking place on the last Saturday of the international Fairtrade Fortnight and it will feature local groups who are campaigning to promote fairtrade.

At the event, there will be craft stalls and a range of workshops, while Fairtrade refreshments, including food and wine, will be served throughout the day.

Organiser Rowena Quantrill of the Oxfam and Fairtrade groups said: "There are so many groups and small charities in Bradford on Avon who are working to make the world a fairer place, from helping orphans in Kenya, to working for peace in Palestine to reducing carbon emissions in our area and we thought it would be great to hold this Festival to celebrate what they are doing.

"We hope lots people will come along to be inspired, have fun and to join us in this celebration."
