Plans for solar farm to go on show

A PUBLIC exhibition will be held at Broughton Gifford Village Hall on Thursday to display proposals for a solar farm in the village.

The exhibition, between 4-7pm will encourage villagers to have their say on the plans before they are submitted to Wiltshire Council for a decision.

The proposed solar farm at Common Farm, Broughton Gifford, would produce renewable energy for the national grid.

The plan is in a consultation stage before being formally submitted.

Farmer Paul Richards has been working with environmental consultants Aardvark EM Ltd of Somerset on the scheme.

As part of the process, presentations have already been made to the members of the parish councils of Broughton Gifford, Melksham Without and Atworth.

For anyone interested who cannot attend the exhibition, the plans are also displayed on the Broughton Gifford Village Hall noticeboard.

For more details contact Jodie Hoare and Phil Cookson at Aardvark EM Ltd on 01984 624989 or environment@aardvarkem.
