A Chippenham taxi firm is supporting the Wiltshire Air Ambulance’s campaign to raise money through text messages by displaying posters in company cars.

Staff from V Cars are displaying posters and cards about the campaign, as well as Wiltshire Air Ambulance car stickers, in all 25 cabs operating in the town.

The idea came from branch manager Ross Skinner, 43, from Swindon, who said he wanted the company to do something to give back to a local charity.

He also visited the air ambulances Devizes base with taxi drivers Carl Russell-Smith and former RAF medic Pete Cressey, 53, from Royal Wootton Bassett, to see the work of the charity.

The just text giving campaign was launched through Vodafone by Pewsey-born skeleton bobsleigh world champion Shelley Rudman at the end of September.

To donate using the campaign text HELI43 £2/£5/£10 to 70070.
