The Red Arrows will perform a flypast over Castle Combe Circuit tomorrow at 1.50pm as a mark of respect for RAF Reserves rider Simon Andrews, who tragically died following an accident at the North West 200.

The circuit's motorcycle festival takes place over the weekend, almost exactly a month since Andrews, 31, died after his accident at Portrush, County Antrim.

Headlining the event will be 21-times TT winner John McGuinness who will ride the ex-Mike Hailwood Honda Six for the first time on the mainland.

He'll be joined on track by ex-GP race and television commentator Steve Parrish on the 500cc Honda Four, as ridden by John McGuinness in the Mike Hailwood tribute alongside Giacomo Agostini at last year's Classic TT, where the pair recreated the battle in the 1967 Senior TT.

In addition, eight times TT winner Chas Mortimer will also be out on his 350cc TZ Yamaha and perhaps still the most famous name in motorcycle racing history, that of Hailwood, will be on track with Mike's son David riding a Ducati Hailwood replica.

Just to add good measure, TT winner James Hillier will ride in Saturday's parade before flying off to France to test for Kawasaki.

Returning to the two-day format, Castle Combe Circuit's only motorcycle meeting of the year is run by the NG Road Racing Club.

The packed race schedule features just about every solo class including the return of the British Historic Championship after a two-year break.

The classic theme is continued with the Classic and Specials Parade run in association with the TT Riders Association so some special bikes and riders are expected.

A circuit spokesman said: "This is a fantastic coup for David and Chas both to be riding plus a rare chance to see James on a classic bike.

"We are very grateful to Neil Tuxworth of Honda Racing, for agreeing to provide the bike for John to ride, and also to Ron Mullen who owns the 500cc Four, often ridden by David Hailwood himself and just last year by John McGuinness on that famous TT lap."

Steve Bostock, event director for the NG Road Racing Club, said: "The on-track activities will consist of action packed racing throughout both days of the event.

"The Castle Combe round is shaping up to be the highlight of the NG Road Racing calendar. We are thrilled to be in partnership with Castle Combe and to be part of this major event in the motorcycle racing calendar."

Practice, qualifying and racing will take place over both days with 20 races each day with qualifying getting underway at 8.45am, qualifying races at 10.30am and the feature races starting at 1pm.

Sunday's star parade takes place at 12.45pm.
